History

In 1957, William Smylie started his distinguished career with Smylie Bros. Inc, a local 120 Union pipe fitters firm that specialized in Heavy Industrial and Commercial Engineering projects. His brothers, Leon and Bernie started the company in 1955. Since then the Smylie name has been one of the most trusted and recognizable names in Heating & Cooling in Northeast, Ohio. Their slogan was “Service with a Smylie.” This slogan carries on today with Smylie One Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing Co., Inc. In a few short years, Smylie One has established itself as a company built on integrity and trust. Smylie One specializes in Residential Add On and Replacement along with Light Commercial, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing Installations and services.

The reputation of Smylie One today rests with Bill Smylie, Steven Smylie, Gary Rosen and Rick Coates. They have been working together as a successful team for over 30 years, bringing you experience and expertise in all phases of HVAC, both residentially, and commercially. Heating… It's 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon in late November. As you enter your home from an afternoon of errands you notice that the air in your home is rather chilly. As you head to the thermostat, you can almost see your breath as it leaves your mouth. What is going on you ask? The temperature on your thermostat is 61° but it’s set for 72°. You call your favorite Heating Contractor, Smylie One.

Cooling… As you set the table for dinner with your family you notice that you’re perspiring a little more than normal. You’ve been busy with cooking, cleaning, and getting ready for a nice evening, but normally you aren’t effected by the work because you like to keep the home at a cool 70°. You venture over to your thermostat and notice it is 78° in the home. Something is terribly wrong! You call your favorite Cooling Contractor, Smylie One, and hope that they can resolve the problem before dinner is ready.

Smylie One arrives soon thereafter. After diagnosing the problem for you he lets you know exactly what the repair costs are. He also will ask you pertinent questions about your maintenance schedule and any past system repairs. What should you do? Who should you turn to? Maybe these guidelines set forth below will help you determine the best possible solution for your home and your budget.

Repair If…

  • Your system is less than 10 years old
  • The repair cost is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty
  • The repair cost is less than $250 for either a furnace or air conditioner
  • The problem relates to maintenance items
  • Your system has required few or no prior repairs
  • You’re unconcerned about your utility bills
  • You don’t have hot or cold spots around the house (or you’re unconcerned about those you do have)
  • You’re moving within the next two years

Replace If…

  • Your system is more than 10 years old

  1. PRE-INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

    Your house is your castle. At Smylie One we recognize this and will ensure that we take care of your home as if it is ours. Before the job starts we will review every detail from removal of your old equipment to exact placement of your new system. This allows us to custom design your comfort system to maximize its efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  2. WE FILE FOR CITY PERMITS

    We are a State Licensed (OH LIC #18265), Bonded, and Insured Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Company. We register this information with your municipality to ensure that our installations meet their code requirements. This gives our customers peace of mind knowing that the job was completed right the first time!
  3. PRODUCT AND SYSTEM LAYOUT

    We will order only the finest UGA, UL, and Energy Star Products for your home. We will not undercut any job with materials that do not meet our rigid requirements. Your system will be designed to maximize efficiencies, airflow and manufacturers specifications.
  4. LET’S START THE WORK

    A Smylie One certified technician will arrive at your home. He will review the details of the job with you and prepare your home for installation. We lay down drop cloths and wear protective covers on our boots. We clean up daily and leave your home in the same condition it was when we started.
  5. LET’S DISCUSS SYSTEM PROCEDURES

    Now that we are completed with your installation our technician specialist will go over the operation and maintenance requirements. Please make sure that you are home for this very important procedure. We will discuss how to achieve optimum comfort, efficiency, and reliability from your new comfort system.
  6. START UP, CHECK OVER, AND SYSTEM PERFORMANCE DIAGNOSIS

    We will start up your system and proceed to go over a very structured and detailed start up that complies with manufacturers specifications for proper operation. This will ensure that your system is working the way it is supposed to be.
